Two years ago, the Munich-based Lukas Tower Band (LTB) celebrated its 30th anniversary. Now, the progressive and folk rock group, which incorporates violin and flute sounds into their music, presents their new album. Some of the tracks on Age Of Gold also venture into jazz rock territory, with the unique violin playing of Indonesian violinist Luluk Purwanto adding an exceptional timbre to the overall sound. The lyrics of the songs are inspired by poets such as William Blake and George Byron. A recommended track to start with is the complex, over seven-minute opener “Tyger.” As a bonus, the album also includes two extra live tracks, including the expansive “Ilusiones.”
