Markus has been playing in bands that consistently focus on original compositions for over 36 years. His musical journey began as a child with organ lessons; later, encounters with progressive rock giants like Emerson, Lake & Palmer and King Crimson opened up new sonic dimensions for him. While he never had true idols, his love for experimentation remained: “There are good and bad things in every genre,” he explains, and particularly values variety – often within a single piece, but not at any cost.
With this openness, Markus shaped the sound of Kickin’ Ears, Es gibt vielleicht Fisch, Schizofrantik, and Lee Harvey & The Oswalds, and is also active as a composer and producer in pop projects.
With his mobile, modern setup, he brings the sonic world of the last few decades to life on stage. His goal: What was created in the studio is performed live on stage without any backing tracks, exactly as it was intended.
